► Used market research to identify issues faced by arthritis sufferers using the steering wheel was highlighted.
► Material analysis software was used to select the materials for the improved steering wheel.
► CAD models were made for three potential design ideas.
► Stresses on the design ideas were analysed using FEA. Final design was chosen and CAD part drawings made.
► Overall, the design was a success according to survey results.
